BanglaHunt Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently the richest cricket board in the world. Despite being the richest cricket board, they have not yet paid the salaries of star cricketers. The BCCI has not paid the salaries of India's star cricketers for the last ten months. The 27 cricketers on the board's central contract have not received quarterly salaries or match fees since October last year.
The BCCI pays the entire salary of all those who have a central contract with the Indian Cricket Board in four installments a year. The cricketers under contract with the board last received the money in October last year. Since then, however, there have been no more matches this year. Most of the series have been canceled due to Corona. BCCI officials are all working from home.
Since December 2019, the Indian team has played two Tests, nine ODIs and eight T20I matches. But the cricketers have not yet received the remuneration for those matches. A total of Rs 99 crore is still due to 27 cricketers. In April, the BCCI signed a financial deal worth Rs 6,138 crore with a match broadcaster. In other words, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is not going through any kind of financial problems. But despite this, the question is why the BCCI has not paid the arrears to the cricketers.
