Whose name is in the charge sheet?
Last Saturday, the Delhi Police filed a supplementary chargesheet on the Delhi violence. CPM leader Sitaram Yechury, economist Jayati Ghosh, Swaraj Party chief Jogendra Yadav, film director Rahul Roy and even Delhi University professor Apurbananda have been named as conspirators in the chargesheet. The Delhi Police claimed that all these personalities of the society had destroyed communal harmony by inciting the CAA protesters.
There have been allegations of inciting violence in Delhi
It has been alleged that all these people in the society have tarnished the image of the country by inciting those who were involved in the Delhi violence. It is learned that the three university students arrested in the Delhi violence have made public the names and links of all these persons.
The accused students have admitted
Even JNU student Debangana and student Narwal have mentioned the Delhi violence along with the names of Delhi University professor Apurbananda and economist Jayati Ghosh. They claim that they have helped the Delhi violence from behind. Besides, Bhim Army chief Chandrasekhar, former MLA Matin Ahmed, former JNU student leader Umar Khalid and Amanatullah Khan have also been named in the case.
CPM leadership vocal in protest
The release of the chargesheet of the Delhi Police has started a commotion in the political arena. Suryakant Mishra has spoken out against the Delhi Police and the Center over the name of CPM leader Sitaram Yechury being linked to the incident. In his words, this case is fabricated and baseless.
