Netflix boycotts call for kissing of different young men and women in temple premises

BanglaHunt Desk: Once again, a boycott call was made on social media alleging 'love jihad'. This time the popular OTT platform Netflix is targeting the extremists. Allegations of promoting love jihad have surfaced against the web series 'A Sweet Boy'.

A section of netizens has accused director Mira Nair of promoting love jihad against the Wes series. Meanwhile, BJP leader Gaurav Tiwari has filed a case against OTT platform Netflix, which broadcasts the web series. He has filed the case in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh.

But is there anything in that web series that caused such allegations? A scene from the web series shows a Hindu girl and a Muslim man kissing on the temple premises. At that time Sriram's Aarti was also shown in the temple. That has angered the extremists.

Earlier, a boycott was called against Tanishq, Big 14 and even Akshay Kumar's picture Lakshmi for promoting love jihad. A section of netizens complained that Akshay's Lakshmi Bomb was promoting 'Love Jihad'. They called for a boycott of the film after making this serious allegation. Netdunia is also fighting over the advertisement of Tanishq, a well-known jewelery company.

Incidentally, A Sweet Boy Web series is directed by Mira Nair. This web series is based on a 1993 novel by Vikram Seth. Tabu, Ishan Khattar and Tania Maniktala are starring in the series.
