Bangla Hunt Desk: It is learned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has donated Rs 2.25 lakh to the Initial Corps in the PM CARES Fund. An official in the Prime Minister's Office said on condition of anonymity that when the Prime Minister set up the PM CARES fund due to the corona virus, the Prime Minister herself first donated Rs 2.25 lakh.
Opposition parties have been attacking the government with PM CARES funds. Congress has questioned the legality of the fund. They also said that from the very beginning when there was a Prime Minister's National Relief Fund, what was the need for such a fund? On the other hand, the government said that the CAG would not be able to audit the fund. PM CARES was exempted under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act and a separate account was set up to collect money from abroad.

When he was awarded the Soul Peace Prize in South Korea, he announced that he would donate Rs 1.3 crore from the prize to the Clean Ganga Mission. In addition, the gifts he received were auctioned off to the tune of Rs 3.40 crore. This money he donated to the Namami Ganges expedition.
