Bangla Hunt Desk: In Ladakh, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will celebrate Dashami with Indian troops in Sikkim amid a border dispute with China. On the occasion of Dashmi, Rajnath Singh will perform arms puja at Nathular Sherthang in Sikkim. This place is only 2 km away from the Indo-China border. Rajnath Singh is on a two-day visit to Sikkim and West Bengal. Rajnath Singh met Indian Army personnel at the Sukna 33 Corps head office in Darjeeling on Saturday and reviewed the preparations. He also gave speeches to boost the morale of the soldiers.
Speaking to the troops in Darjeeling, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said India has always treated its neighbors well. He also wanted good relations with the neighbors. He said the message of peace has always been given by India. But from time to time Indian soldiers have come to the rescue of Indian borders, integrity and sovereignty.
Army Chief Norban was also present on the visit along with Rajnath Singh. The top commander of the 33rd Corps gave a detailed report to the defense minister and army chief on the current situation along the LASA in the Sikkim sector and the stockpile of troops and equipment, officials said. While talking to the Army personnel, Defense Minister Vijay Dashmi wished them all a happy retirement and appreciated their dedication to protect the country's borders.
Tensions on the border between India and China have been simmering in eastern Ladakh for about five months. As a result, relations between the two countries have deteriorated. The two sides held talks at the political and military levels to resolve the stalemate, but no issues were resolved.
