Breaking News: Mumbai Police arrested the Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV

Bangla Hunt Desk: Mumbai Police have arrested Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV. Police took Arnab to Raigarh police station. Police are also searching Arnab's house. Arnab has been arrested in an old case registered in Alibag. In May this year, the Maharashtra government ordered a CID probe against Arnab.

The CID was directed to reconsider the case of Arnab Goswami for non-payment of arrears under two other sections and for inciting the suicide of a 53-year-old interior designer and his mother. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said the interior designer's daughter had claimed that the Alibag police in Raigarh district had not investigated the case even after not paying the arrears. And because of this his father and his grandmother had to choose the path of suicide.

The suicide note written by the interior designer stated that the accused Arnab did not pay him Rs 5.40 crore. And this is why he chose this path. Although Arnav and Republic TV have dismissed all the allegations.
