Bangla Hunt Desk: RJD chief and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was convicted of animal feed corruption, took a big hit. A Jharkhand court has rejected his bail application. Lalu Prasad's case was scheduled to be heard in court today, but the High Court has directed that the hearing be held on November 26, which means that Lalu Yadav cannot get out of jail for the time being. Although, he is not in jail at all, he is currently undergoing treatment at RIMS Hospital. He has been in the hospital since the sentence was announced.
It may be mentioned that the petition of Lalu Yadav, a prisoner in the Dumka Treasury case, was heard on Friday. The CBI has asked for more time to defend itself in this hearing. After that, the High Court said that the hearing will be held on November 28.
Lalu Prasad Yadav has been sentenced to half the sentence in an illegal irrigation case with Dumka Treasury. And on that basis he applied to the court for bail. But the court adjourned the hearing. It is rumored that if the High Court grants bail to Lalu, the way will be cleared for the RJD president to be released from jail. He has already been granted bail in the animal feed scandal. And he is now undergoing treatment at RIMS in Ranchi.
Lalu Prasad Yadav has been sentenced to seven years in various sections in the case related to Dumka treasury. Note that this great corruption came to light in 1996. At that time, Bihar police filed a case in this regard and started investigation. The investigation then found a link to Lalu Prasad Yadav. Later, the CBI took the case into its own hands and started investigation. And this case has been going on for the last 24 years.
