Bangla Hunt Desk: The Indian Army on Friday captured a Lashkar-e-Taiba militant alive during an operation in the Chadura area of Baragam in central Kashmir. The incident was captured on live video for the first time in the history of the army in Jammu and Kashmir. Army, police and CRPF arrested local militant Jahangir Ahmed Bhatt with AK47 rifles and explosives during the operation.
IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said Lashkar militants were constantly firing on Jahangir's army. During the gunfight, one militant was able to escape. But the army was patient in the operation, and gave the militants a chance to surrender. As a result, local militant Jahangir Ahmed Bhatt surrendered to the army, saving his own life.
According to sources, 20-year-old Jahangir went missing a week ago. That's when he joined Lashkar. After Jahangir was arrested alive, his parents were called to meet him. The Jammu and Kashmir Police will now assist Jahangir to bring him back to the mainstream of life.
