8 grams of cannabis recovered from home, comedian Bharati arrested by NCB

Popular comedian Bharti Singh has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for possession of illicit drugs. This morning, the NCB team raided the Mumbai home of Bharati and her husband Harsh Limbachia. Cannabis was recovered after the search. After that, Bharati and Harsh were taken away by NCB for questioning.

In the video posted by photographer Viral Vyani, Harsh and Bharati arrive in front of the NCB's zonal office in Mumbai, first in a white car and then in a red car. When asked by reporters about drugs, Bharati replied that they were brought up only for questioning. On the other hand, NCB Mumbai zonal office director Sameer Wankhede said that Bharati has been arrested for drug possession and Harsh is being interrogated.

It is learned that the NCB raided the house of Bharati and Harsh on the basis of the statement of an arrested drug trafficker. 8 and a half grams of cannabis was recovered from their house. Bharati is the first small screen star whose house was searched by NCB. Earlier, the NCB had summoned Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and his wife Gabriella Dimitriades.

On November 9, the NCB raided Arjun's house. The NCB confiscated several electronic gadgets including laptops and mobiles from the actor's house. His driver was also questioned. Earlier, the NCB recovered 10 grams of cannabis from the house of producer Feroz Nadiadwala's wife. The producer's wife was also arrested.

Incidentally, the investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput's death came to light after the late actor's girlfriend Riya Chakraborty's WhatsApp chat revealed a drug-related conversation. The NCB arrested Riya, her brother Shauvik Chakraborty, house manager Samuel Miranda and a cook for allegedly bringing drugs to Sushant.
